COMME des GARCONS X Moncler 365 collection

What would happen if Mohammad Ali were to face Mike Tyson? Who knows, but I can tell you what happens when two garment heavyweights square off.

In this latest collaboration, Japanese fashion brand COMME des GARCONS and outerwear company Moncler square off, the result, a fashion forward avante garde collection so rare it is not being sold in North America. This particular relationship infuses the well-documented and progressive aesthetics of COMME des GARCONS with the signature outerwear expertise of Moncler. The two recently opened a new retail space to house the collection in Tokyo which will remain open over the course of a year.

Comme des Garçons’ Moncler 365, which is aptly named since it will be open for exactly one year, features an almost entirely black product lineup. The goods include Moncler styles that have been customized by Comme des Garçons, such as a nylon jacket with knit squares on the pockets, which goes for 105,000 yen, or about $1,147 at current exchange. Moncler products handpicked by Kawakubo, an edited selection of Comme des Garçons pieces and a selection of products from other brands are also on offer. Come July, the store will stock a complete collaboration collection designed by Kawakubo and made by Moncler.
